Holiday Destination Reviews

              MENORCA

        Cala'n Blanes

This is the ideal Holiday for families. Menorca is part of the Spanish Balearic Islands and should not be confused with Majorca. If it is sun, sand and fun you are after you won't be disappointed here.

Menorca is a small Island, you could drive from east to west in about one hour and from north to south in about thirty minutes. Don't let the small size confuse you though, you can spend two weeks on the Island exploring and still not see everything. Car hire is essential as there is so much to see and so little time to see it in. If you want to hire a car then I suggest that you hire one whilst you are on the Island, as there is a lot of competition and it is cheaper there, than through the travel agent.

You have the choice of both, Hotel or sel-catering if you go for self-catering you are spoilt for choice in the amount of Restaurants that are available serving both local and European dishes, ( you also get the local English chippy ).

The majority of the beaches on the Island are situated in small coves, most have sandy beaches. Some of the beaches can only be reached by car or a long walk. But just imagine this! you find a small cove with a lovely beach the water is as clear as tap water and you are the only ones on this beach, you go into the clear water and start swimming with the fishes. Doesn't that sound great, it can happen on Menorca.

If you go self-catering then you should try to book into the Vista Blanes. This is probably one of the best complexes on the Island, the service is second to none and the accommodation is superb. The staff at this complex are very friendly. If I go back to Menorca again which I hope I will, it will be to the Vista Blanes.

Because a lot of families go to Menorca it is great for the children, it is fairly quiet at the Vista Blanes on a night time and after midnight you hardly hear a thing, letting you have a peaceful night so you can start afresh the next day.
